Foundation

At P&G, I worked on a collaborative project addressing a scalable business need helping consumers more easily refill and reuse their laundry products. We designed a sustainable refill system combining in store stations with a mobile experience supporting P&G's sustainability goals while delivering a user centered solution built to scale.

Problem Statement

Consumers increasingly want to reduce waste and reuse their products, but many options are too expensive or they simply don't know how. Without clear guidance and accessible options, sustainable intentions rarely translate into action leaving consumers stuck in a single-use routine.

Solution

A scalable user-focused sustainable refill system that combines in-store refill stations with an intuitive mobile experience. Consumers can refill and reuse their laundry products at accessible brick-and-mortar stations, while the mobile app guides them through the process, locates nearby stations, incentivices refills, and tracks their impact.

Iterations

Using insights from our market research, we explored the physical and digital system through the lens of consumer behavior studying how people interact with each step and how those interactions could reinforce sustainable habits over single use ones.

We paid particular attention to how the system integrates into the brick-and-mortar experience, as that was a business priority, meeting consumers where existing habits form.

The physical and digital experience went through several design iterations before coming together.
