Lessons I learned from my 26.2 debut
My growing interest in design for health tech stems from my passion for fitness. Running in itself is no easy feat, let alone a marathon, but what I've learned has impacted the way I navigate life's challenges.
Introduction
I grew up competitng. My main sports being soccer and track. Being active has always played a vital role in my physical and mental health. It's taught me lessons that I live by in my daily life.
I always dreamed of running marathons, specifically Boston. In 2024, my brother ran the Chicago marathon (his first). Between the comradery, pure determination displayed by my brother accomplishing his goals, and my compettive nature, my marathon journey began.
The following year, I ran Chicago. It changed me unlocking new perspectives on life and what I am capable of.
Here what I learned along the way
Life is unexpected. Welcome change.
Consistency is key.
Sacrifice is required.
Trust the process, trust the work.
There are no shortcuts.
In moments where you forget how to believe in yourself, the people around you and the crowd believes in you.
In the face of pressure, stress, and tiredness be adaptable.
Treat your body with care, it's capable of so much.
Be present for the journey and grateful for the outcome.
There's always something better on the other side, push through.
Self belief. I am mentally and physically stronger than I thought.
Some of the most beautiful places you'll ever see are the ones running takes you to.

What's next?
Boston is the goal but Philly Marathon 2026 is the next step!
